Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and StudyLens ("we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the StudyLens website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using StudyLens, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Eligibility: You must be at least 13 years old to use StudyLens. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service. Users under 13 require verified parental consent.

StudyLens is an AI-powered visual learning companion that:

• Analyzes images of educational content (textbooks, notes, diagrams, problems)
• Generates explanations, step-by-step solutions, and learning content
• Provides follow-up question answering
• Generates practice problems for reinforcement
• Tracks learning progress and study streaks
• Supports multiple languages

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain and update your information as needed
• Keep your password secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

StudyLens offers:

• Free Plan: Limited daily scans and features
• Premium Plan: Unlimited scans, all features, priority support

You retain ownership of all content you upload ("Your Content"). However, by uploading content, you grant us a limited license to:

• Process and analyze the content to provide the Service
• Store the content for your use
• Use anonymized, aggregated data to improve our AI models

You represent and warrant that:

• You have the right to upload the content
• Your content does not violate any third-party rights
• Your content does not contain malware or harmful code
• Your content is not illegal, defamatory, or offensive

The Service, including all software, AI models, designs, text, graphics, logos, and other materials, is owned by StudyLens and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service
• Use our trademarks without permission
• Reverse-engineer or decompile our software
• Create derivative works based on the Service

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless StudyLens, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Your Content

You may terminate your account at any time through Settings → Account → Delete Account. Upon deletion:

• Your data will be deleted within 30 days
• Active subscriptions will continue until the current period ends
• You will not receive refunds for unused time (except under our refund policy)

We may suspend or terminate your access if:

• You violate these Terms
• Your payment fails repeatedly
• We are required to do so by law
• We discontinue the Service (with reasonable notice)

We may modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes:

• We will update the "Last Updated" date
• We will notify you via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect
• Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms
• If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service

Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and StudyLens.

Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right in the future.

Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights to an affiliate or successor.

Force Majeure: We are not liable for failures due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Headings: Section headings are for convenience only and have no legal effect.
